Fence droppers
Droppers are fixed to the line wires between fence standards. They keep barbed wire, plain wire and field fence evenly spaced and stop the wires spreading, so animals can’t push through. Using droppers lets you space your standards further apart, which saves cost on long fence lines.

• Lengths: 1.25 m, 1.40 m, 1.85 m and 2.45 m, to suit everything from low livestock fences to game fencing
• Profiles: including Newcastle and Ridgeback droppers

WFSA product tiers: Mzansi / Econo and specified ranges

The WFSA Mzansi / Econo range is a commercial-value range for selected price-sensitive, general-purpose, retail, hardware-store and lower-load applications where a project-specific certified or warranted specification is not required. Select it for the intended use; it is not an automatic substitute for heavier-duty, fully specified or standards-compliant material.

Depending on the product, differences can include actual wire diameter, coating level, mass, steel content and manufacturing tolerance. Compare the individual specifications rather than height, mesh opening or purchase price alone.

Intermediate Y / K standards support the fence between major posts; they are not straining or anchor posts. Droppers maintain separate strand spacing and do not replace structural supports. Choose posts, stays and bracing for the complete fence loads and soil. Read the farm-fence support guidance.
